City of Mom-Ho Control
You use the keyboard to control the game.

The arrow keys move the characters on screen and select options on menus.

Key Ctrl brings an options menu, confirms a selected option and continues the conversation when you’re talking to someone.

Key Alt hides the options menu, cancels a selected option and continues the conversation when you’re talking to someone.

Key Esc brings the game’s configuration menu (more details ahead).

Moving
After the introduction screens, the game starts on Mom-Ho city. You see some people around and Sirey on the middle of screen.

When you move the character with the arrow keys, you’ll see that Reven and Teenook follow Sirey wherever he goes.

Sirey can enter houses, leave the town, walk on the fields, enter caves, etc.

Actions menu Calling the actions menu
Pressing Ctrl brings the actions menu on the left side of the screen.

Talk This menu’s first option is Talk. With that, Sirey can talk to a person, enemy or anything that’s in front of him. If there’s nothing in front of Sirey, he won’t talk to anyone.
Some people have a lot to say, so you’ll see on screen the various options of what Sirey can talk to them, and you must choose the phrase you want to say.

The second option is Look. With that, Sirey looks at whatever is in front of him, which can give you a hint if that’s an item, an important part of the scenery, and enemy, etc.

The Take option makes Sirey take any item that’s in front of him, if that’s possible.

Look With Magic, you see another menu where you can select your character’s magics. Read more about magic ahead.

Selecting Items you see on screen a menu showing all the items that your characters are carrying, and then you can use them, see what they are, equip them or even use them with another item. Read more about items ahead.

The last options is Status. With that you can check every character’s status. Read more details about status ahead.

Status
All characters have a certain status along the game.

Selecting the character to see the status When you select status from the actions menu, you see a menu with the names of all characters. Select a name and then you’ll see that character’s status.

Status of Sirey On the left you see the character’s picture, name and age. On right are the status data.

Level shows what’s that character current energy level. The higher the level, the stronger he is in fights.

Energy shows the character’s energy, along with the total energy that he can reach on the current level. In a fight, the enemy may hurt the character and you’ll lose energy points. If the points reach 0, the character will be too weak to keep fighting, so you must find a restoration house to get restored. The energy raises as you raise levels.

Magic are the character’s magic points (some characters learn magic, some don’t), along with the total magic points that the character can reach on the current level. Every magic takes a certain amount of magic points. If the points reach 0, you can’t use magics anymore, so you must find a restoration house and get restored. The magic points raises as you raise levels.

Exp shows the character’s experience points. Every time the group wins a battle, they earn a certain amount of experience. When that number reaches a certain limit, the character’s level will raise and he’ll get stronger for fights.

Weap shows the weapon the character’s using, which you can buy in shops or get somewhere else. The more expensive the weapon, the stronger is the character in fights.

Gold shows how much money the group has. You earn money fighting and around.

Items Items
When you select Itens on the actions menu, you see a screen with all the items you characters have.

With the arrows keys, you can move the cursor to select an item. When the item is selected, you have four options.

What to do with the item Use makes Sirey use that item. It may produce some effect on the scenery right in front of Sirey.

Look makes Sirey check that item and he says his opinion about it, what it can be used for, etc.

Equip is an option to make the character equip that item. Basically this option is used to weapon items, which were bough in shops or you found them around, so characters can use the weapons.

Use with item makes you use the item with yet another item, to see if both produce any effect or join into a new item.

Fighting a few Mushrooms Fights
Enemies are all over the map. To start a fight, just get close to an enemy and talk to him, just like you were going to talk to someone. During fights, the player sees the characters and the enemy, which can also be a group.

On the lower part of the screen you see a box with the characters’ status. The arrow symbol means that, on the next round, the character will use a weapon. The stars symbol means that the character will use a selected magic.

Select Fight to start a fighting round. What’s a fighting round? It’s a round where everyone on screen (enemies and your characters) fight. The attack order is random.

The player select Plan to plan what the characters will do in a fighting round. The options are simple: you can Attack the enemy with the weapon that the character is using; or you can use a Magic against the enemy, if that character learned magics.

Select Run to run away from the battle.

Fight ends when the player manages to kill the enemy, earning Gold and experience points, or when all characters are too weak to keep fighting.

Magic!
Certain characters learn certain magics during the game. However you don’t learn magic from nothing. The character learns by watching the enemies that attack using that magic. More sophisticated magics take longer to learn.

Magics can be used in a fight or outside it, which may produce effects on the surrounding environment.

To use a magic, just select the character from the menu and which of his magics you wish to use. If the character has enough magic points, he’ll cast it.
